Buyers Beware

Buyers Beware

Chaitee doesn't know whether to chuckle or moan over this weekend of Auction House craziness. Prices went through the roof and stayed there, including leylights and other crafting mats. Buyers took one look and walked away from the table. Chaitee's secret weapon in that situation is Sista. When mats are too expensive to buy, Sista rolls in with the farming goods. Chaitee sent Sista out multiple times, going as far as the Twilight Highlands and Northrend's Naxxramas. Still, few were buying.

Chaitee can't blame them. Crazy sellers with unrealistic bids refusing to budge on a price. Bag prices don't fluctuate that much. Everyone knows what they sell for and won't spend more than that. So when mat prices rise, bag prices don't. When mat prices drop, though, bag prices can fall precipitously, for no rhyme or reason. It just does.

Looking for something different to do than kill things, Keya encountered an interesting challenge as a result of all her slashing through old content. She has acquired almost a dozen i425 lockboxes. The family has no rogue, which common knowledge says is the best way get a lockbox opened. Supposedly there is a character called Pazik who can open lockboxes in the Dalaran Underbelly, but if he's there she hasn't found him.

Keya was still curious, so she did some more research, learning to her surprise that keys to lockboxes can be made by a Jewelcrafter. Who knew! The key is consumed when used. Sure, these are old boxes and probably have little of useful value, but still, one wonders what is inside. Another surprise is that Rakta happens to be a Jewelcrafter at Draenor max level 700. Well, that gave Keya an idea. Keya wanted to know what was in those lockboxes, but she didn't want to take the effort to figure it out herself. So she talked Rakta into looking into it.

Rakta was so delighted to get some action she gave Keya a big hug and a kiss, then rushed out to collect her gear before Keya could wish her good hunting - or change her mind. She's also sure Keya will expect Rakta to share whatever those lockboxes hold should Rakta succeed. Rakta's real interest is focused on keeping active, the longer she can stretch out this lockbox task, the more time she can spend working on her own gear and artifacts.  More to follow.
