SIX Quests Oh My! In Argus

SIX Quests Oh My! In Argus

Well, the dam broke Monday morning. Six quests showed up on Krokuun. Tiphaine will be tracking them down. Was it coincidence that the new set of quests happened to arrive on the day before I will be taking a trip to Virginia? Oh, have I not mentioned that yet? Yes, I am going to Virginia for a couple of weeks to visit with my Mom.

There is still a war going on in Argus, and Tiphaine remains in the middle of it. Tiphaine has punched out two serious elites, one on the Broken Shores and the other deep into Krokuun. In both cases the elites were being avoided by other players - until Tiphaine tapped the elites on the shoulder. The Krokuun fight was a little scary because no one wanted to engage the nasty demon. Once they saw that Tiphaine was holding her own, others finally figured they were safe and hammered away. All that work got her a tiny gear upgrade, from i878 to i879.

AND - Tiphaine got into an Invasion Point battle and managed to help kill the elite. It's Tiphaine's first invasion victory!

General Roundup

Tiphaine keeps trying new things. She decided to fly over to Shield's rest, the all elite soldiers and flying dragons. There is a quest to kill two of the elites to get a gear upgrade. She found a good spot - she thought - and engaged one the dragons. Shortly after the fight started a second beast joined the fight. The battle took some time. By the time she could break off the attack, she had killed three of them. She got her gear piece, a nice i880 trinket. Her overall gear score bumped up to i880.

Tiphaine is running through quests so fast now she is forgetting to log the names of the elites she has killed and what questline she is on. She has been so busy she hasn't had time to add the 14 Billion AP still sitting in her bags. But for all that her gear score only bumped up one point, to i881.

Now, Tiphaine has gotten a ticket to officially visit Mac'Aree, instead of tramping about the place without a guide. Tiphaine is ready to bag more bad guys and grab some more loot. Her latest elite kill was Flotsam (no, Tiphaine is not in Argus here - keep up), but in the far north. He is a ?? elite who likes his naps. Tiphaine woke him up. Good thing there were a couple of others around to kill him. It took more than five long minutes to bring him down. Her gear score edged up to i882.

Back to Argus (Over the Weekend)

Back to Argus (Over the Weekend)

It took some sleuthing, but Tiphaine managed to find a quest in Argus. Now she has three quests to work with and hopes the chain will continue. Tiphaine admits that she has gotten careless with the ease at which she is plundering the Broken Shore. She must work harder in Argus. The two quests before her now are Duskcloak Problem and An Argus Report (since completed).

Shortly afterward, she had the occassion to slaughter the nasty Lady Sharazad. She was not an elite, but had a small army at her side and - very irritating - Tiphaine kept getting Feared. After a rather ignominious death, Tiphaine was more careful, manuevering the Lady into a small rocky corner where her Fear was useless. Dead Lady.

Another annoyance was Blizzard's insistence on running a patch DURING the battle! Sigh. Luckily it did not cause a crash or lockup.

Back to the task at hand, Tiphaine is still learning her way around and getting into trouble. For most mobs it would take a dozen mobs to actually kill her, and she could eat her lunch while waiting for all of them to die. She's not taking things for granted, though. Argus is dangerous and Tiphaine remains aware. She can point to small successes with her gear, which is now at iLevel 868. Argus is not the source of those upgrades, though. The Broken Shore drops a new piece of gear each day (sometimes twice) with a gear upgrade (5 item levels, usually - ie, 870 to 875) as the prize. Of course, she still has to complete the quest, but so far every victory has gotten her a small gear upgrade. No such luck in Argus.

Later . . . Tiphaine has fallen prey to one of the most dangerous of foes - a lack of fresh quests. Keya had the same problem when she was starting in on Argus. Much too often there was literally nothing to do that actually accomplished something. Argus's Krokuum and Mac'ree needs more than silly names (that I keep mispelling). Literally, there is nothing to do. Keya agreed there were long stretches of snooze-ville.

So it was back to sweeping through whatever was available on the Broken Shores - mostly invasions and world quests. That got her gear to i877.

While Tiphaine worked on her gear, Atkar made a surprise visit to - drum roll please - Naxramas. What made this run special is that Atkar earned Cloth Scavenging, which will allow her to be a lot more useful to Sista. Combining Sista's Tailoring/Enchanting with Atkar's Tailoring and her Garrison Enchanting makes a pretty solid pairing. The announcement drew rare praise from Tiphaine.

[Her other side, Naithipe, is much less happy with that situation, but keeps the plans from herself. ]

Java keeps coming up with better ideas to help the with the gold gathering. Among her talents are herb gathering and mining skills, neither of which pay much. What makes them valuable has mostly to do with the work being done at Deepholm. Java is making time to farm ore, and more importantly the herbs of Deepholm that Atkar can turn into potions of treasure finding, which in turn are used to increase the loot from both Naxramas and the Twilight Highlands. A lot can get done when working together.

Destiny Post (Argus)

Destiny Post (Argus)

It took longer than she thought, but at last Tiphaine fought her way onto Argus and to the camp called Destiny Post. A lot of killing, some minor quests cleared, four elites killed, and, well, one minor setback. The fourth and nastiest of a series of elites took Tiphaine two attempts and one death before taking it down.

The battles were exciting, and there was a lot of running around. No flying in Argus. Tiphaine reached the post of the Shattered Fields and beyond. She's certain Keya has been here many times. What seems to be missing are gear upgrades. Not a single upgrade since entering Argus. Practically every completed quest returns gold, instead of gear. And the gold is pitiful.

Back on the Broken Shores, Tiphaine had better luck - for awhile. Every day a new quest would pop up with a new piece of upgraded gear to go after. That worked great until Tiphaine's gear finally outgrew the quest loot. Every piece of equiped gear is at least i860 or higher - except for one trinket that's holding her back (i780). Tiphaine's overall gear is i861.

Later . . . Tiphaine went from bored to overwhelmed when she signed up for a trip on the Vindicar to the Antoran Wastes in Argus. She wasn't quite ready for that and will look to Mac'Aree, a little less dangerous place in Argus, and see how that goes. There had better be something worth going after.

Exciting News!

Exciting News!

Okay, the above title is a lie. Actually, there isn't much to claim Tiphaine's attention. She is pleased with her improving gear but is frustrated at the pace.

Her current gear score is iLevel 846. She's burning though her AP and adding more Broken Isles quest completions and Invasion kills. She even took another look at Argus, but after the first quest, there has been nothing to do there. Not sure how to kick-start that process.

She visited the Nether Crucible on the Vindicar. Her current relics are: Doomcaller heart (level 2, Blood), Memory of Nelthalion, Blood), Rune-Etched Quill, Iron), and two netherlight items. She's bumped up her Artifact level from 60 to 63, aiming to match Keya's 70.

Java, by the way, doesn't see her job of Auctioneer as a permanent thing. She still takes time to visit the Greyfang Enclave and the Sanctum of Light. She completes whatever requirements there are. She has five followers helping out. There did not seem to be an answer as to whether Java should try to gain more followers, or if that no longer matters in the world of Legion.

Java hopes to eventually get back on the battlefield and finish her combat training. Her gear level is i754. She even checked on the Forge at her Garrison, thinking Tiphaine might make use of it, too. Java is 73% of the way to level 108.

Atkar remains busy with tasks set by Sista. Wildshard and Tiphaine held a closed meeting that was supposed to be private, but word leaked out. Keya is restless and may demand greater time to further her goals.

Overall, a boring day ahead.

Following in Keya's Footsteps

Following in Keya's Footsteps

Tiphaine has been on a pretty good run the last few days. She has been clearing every open quest and world quest until she ran out of quests.  All that effort raised her gear score by a good margin: from i740 to i798. Her artifact weapon has also gotten a serious upgrade, from 40 to 60. Only Keya has a higher AP (70). Tiphaine has been using the Deliverance Port as her base, but she is chafing at the bit to get into heavier work.

Keya offered the opinion that she spend a lot more time in Suramar. Tiphaine had to admit that the Meredil Flight Path has only recently been opened and there was a lot to be done. Tiphaine had to do a little blade dancing before Thyryssa could be put at ease in her cave. She was also happy to pick up some interesting quests.

Later, Tiphaine got a great big grin on her face when she heard that a Legion invasion was on the way and her "pal," the elite demon, Kro'Nak, would be in attendance. Round Two of their battle had to be postponed, unfortunately, as the lag in the invasion was so bad little fighting could be completed. Tiphaine swears one day she will kill that demon.

Still, Tiphaine is anxious to get a look at Argus. Keya gave her fair warning. There is a definite jump in the level of danger between the Broken Shores and Argus. Keya angered Tiphaine by telling her she wasn't yet good enough for that level of death dealing.

While Tiphaine didn't acknowledge Keya's advice, she did spend extra time on her gear, pushing it up to i809.

Keya just shook her head. "You'll learn - or die," she murmured. Keya began her combat role on Argus with a gear score of i895.

Tiphaine, stubborn as always, took the plunge. "The Hand of Fate" is the journey to Argus.Tiphaine started her journey to the Vindicar - and Argus.

"I'm coming for you, Keya," Tiphaine boasted.

"Bring it on," Keya laughed. "Idiot."

But Tiphaine wasn't listening. Keya shrugged.

Clean-Up Crews

Clean-Up Crews

Now that things are running again, sort of, the testing begins. Kind of a what still works and what doesn't. All addons were removed.

One small win for Tiphaine and company was that the "mount" button still works. When Tiphaine (or any other flyable mount) clicks on that button (zero key) her mount responds. So that feature didn't get lost. Hopefully there will be more signs of life. The combat bar or whatever it's called (Bar One?) kept the spells on the bar. The order of use is different, though, and that will have to be re-learned. I'm used to a 3x4 box with 12 buttons. The buttons all still work but without Dominos I don't know what buttons go with what spell. Will take some tinkering.

Tiphaine flew to her Class Hall. She still had her 630 million AP. She used a large part of that getting her initial Soul Forge filled out. She also added another 945M from a different quest. Small successes. Now she's going home to Dalaran. She is short an artifact (she hasn't earned her third trait, yet) but she'll have to find the quest for that. At least everything seems to be functioning in the new "normal."

Update: She is doing great now with her artifact traits. She now has her Iron trait and had enough AP to go from 50 to 54 including the Concordance. Keya could tell her all about it, but Tiphaine said no, she wanted to figure it out herself. She's done a fine job so far.

A "Just thought you should know category:" Tiphaine learned recently that the maximum artifact power one can acquire is: 865 trillion. That means that every weapon trait has been unlocked. Tiphaine isn't holding her breath.

So far no addons have been tested. Java decided to use the Postal addon as the guinea pig because of it's simplicity. Done. Postal is working.

The next nightmare. The Auction House. One look at the naked Warcraft Auction House has Java in tears. Java has been using the base level Auction House for the past couple of days. It is workable but there is no comparison with the addon, Auctioneer. The original Norgana Auctioneer (which I remember fondly) was a standalone. Now it seems to have been swallowed up by CurseForge. I looked at the Curseforge version and it "looks" like what I'm used to, but . . . is it? There are several versions floating around. By carefully culling out the wannabe's, the version Curseforge has most closely matches what I remember of the addon. The original owner of the addon, Norgana, also still has a hand in it.

Java let out a long sigh of relief when Auctioneer was added to the addons - and it is working!

Note that the addon Dominos has not been loaded. According to Blizzard, a Dominos glitch was the source of the original failure. The glitch is rare, but under the right circumstances it could happen again, I was told. Dominos says there is no such glitch. Sigh. There are many issues listed by players using Dominos, but not a one has seen the specific failure that seems to have crashed me.

I can do without them. Right now it's awkward. It will take time for each player to get used to the standard bars and which buttons to push. Years of muscle memory has to be re-learned. Combat will be particularly critical, of course.

I expect that there will be a lot more dying while figuring things out.

Destined to Suffer Dastardly Failures

Destined to Suffer Dastardly Failures

Tiphaine and family seem destined to suffer dastardly failures. Over and over again. The wee problem of Tiphaine not being able to login became another grueling day with the Blizzard techs. Four techs, throughout the day, tried to fix Tiphaine's "stuck" problem, ultimately leaving me with nothing but new passwords to remember. By then I could hardly remember why I bothered.

So once again Blizzard has screwed up my Warcraft game. It started with my character, Tiphaine. I had spent the past nine days getting Tiphaine to level 110. I had just earned it and had just taken the death gate portal to her class hall. She had received her helm. She had a class hall gear piece waiting to be picked up. She also had received 630 million artifact power for her weapon.

Something went wrong. Tiphaine clicked on the AP (artifact power) to store the AP for use. According to the fifth tech, the addon Dominos has a rare bug that sometimes manifests itself in Tiphaine's rare circumstances. I've no idea if the tech was feeding me bull or not, but I was ready to believe anything if it would just get fixed.

The tech at least let me know up front that I would have to re-install all my addons. He did the usual cache, interface, and WTF deletes, along with some other things we tried. I guess it's fixed. All my characters can log in now. I'm stripped down to bare bones - ie, no addons. Sigh.

I will check with the Dominos addon to see if the author wants to comment on the suppossed bug. I will be rethinking addon use. Too tired.

So This is the Broken Shore

So This is the Broken Shore

Tiphaine stands at Deliverance Point. At last. The meaning is clear.
Tiphaine is now Level 110. She did it in nine days.

Now she has to work out how to spend the 630 million artifact power (AP) she received. Keya heard her and laughed. "Wait until it takes a billion or more AP for an AP upgrade."

So, This is the Broken Character

Tiphaine hit a large hiccup this morning. She is stuck/ Locked. Can't login. That means deleting folders and spending all day getting Tiphaine fixed. Sigh. She just got her new helm, her class hall belt is waiting for her, and she has 630 million artifact power in limbo. The likely culprit is an invasion automatically cycling at the same time Tiphaine was working on her Class Hall. Not how I wanted to spend my day, sigh. So far this only affects Tiphaine. I hope.

A Short Veer About Bags

A Short Veer About Bags

Boring, I know. Java will try to keep it short. Since she has taken over the reins of the Auction House, she has oveseen some of the highest prices for bags in memory.

As of yesterday morning, prices look like this:
Frostweave bags: 420 gold (the past norm is 300-350)
Embersilk Bags: 900 gold (norm is 400-600)
Silkweave Satchels: 1010 gold (norm is 700-800)
Hexweave Bag: 2800 gold (norm is 900-1000)

The downside to all this comes down to crafting material costs, all of which have skyrocketed. Java has/had a very large stock of crafting mats. That bounty has all but wiped out.

The bulk of the mats come from three sources: The Bastion of Twilight, The Maw of Madness, and Naxramas. Sista, Tiphaine, and Atkar have been contributing. Keya will likely be roped in as well. Chaitee will also at least test the waters on whether she could be useful. All of these sources have cooldowns of a week or so (except the Maw), and they are all on cooldown now.

Still, despite the price hikes, Java is above water goldwise, although some think the take should be larger. So far Java as made 23k gold profit. The bank is holding 588k. Chaitee couldn't help but quip that under her watch the take was far larger.
PS - Java released new figures this morning. Guild gold coffers have risen above 600k. That doesn't count the gold already in the bank, which Tiphaine monitors carefully.

Speaking of Tiphaine, she spent most of the last evening in Stormheim playing with dragons and other killable creatures. Without paying too much attention, she reached Level 109. One more level to go.

Sista and Atkar

Sista and Atkar

Sista was making preparations for a run into the Twilight Highlands.
"Doing a run?"

Startled, Sista dropped a half full satchel. Atkar was standing in front of her.

"Doing a run?" Atkar repeated.

Sista recovered quickly. "Already finished with the Naxramas run for the week." The two women assessed each other. Finally, Sista broke the silence. "Tiphaine says . . . "

"Don't care what that death knight says," spitting out the words. "Doing a run?" Persistent.
"Bastion of Twilights," Sista said. "Why?"

"I'm running it, too," Atkar announced. Sista kept busy with her bags, continuing with her work without saying anything.

"I don't need your permission, you know." Atkar said mildly.

The hairs on the back of Sista's neck rose stiffly.

Atkar's tone switched to petulant. "I know what to do. I've already been to the Maw of Madness."

Sista straightened swiftly and slung her largest bag across her shoulder.

Atkar jumped backward to avoid being smacked by the bag.

"Being there and knowing what to do are different things. Just you being here seems to have ruined today's work."  Sista swore.

Atkar felt herself ready to explode. Somehow she managed to hold it in.

Sista winced at her own rebutal. "Listen," Sista tried again, holding in her frustration.

"Actually, I've just come back from a run. I wanted to try something to make the run quicker."

"Did it work?" Atkar asked. She saw Sista's face. "Not so good, huh?"

The bad run had nothing to do with Atkar, of course. On her usual run Sista makes a careful circuit of the main room, killing in small bunches and collecting the goods as she goes along. Her new idea was to kill everything in the room swiftly, using Moonfire to tag groups that then run right to her to die. Then she just cleans up the mess.

Initially, Sista was elated at how well that worked. She cut her time in the raid by at least a third. It was only after she started counting her spoils did she realize that her take was much smaller than usual. Quicker kills, particularly groups, drop fewer goodies. On a normal run Sista clears over 800 embersillk cloth. She cleared just over 600 cloth on the "fast" run. Java is going to be short on mats this week because of Sista's tinkering.

Sista was still groaning about the run when Atkar touched Sista's sleeve.

Sista suddenly had her knife out . . . Atkar was nearly as fast, her own knife gleaming. The two stared at each other, and then, slowly, lowered their knives. The knives went back into their sleeves at the same slow pace.

Sista took a deep breath. That was close. Atkar waited. "So you want to help. Okay, make a run the normal way. You seem to already know it," Sista suggested. "Let's see how you do."
Atkar didn't wait around, diving into the raid. Well, thought Sista, at least she asked.

Sista had some thinking to do. If Atkar is serious about helping with the scavenging, she might show her how to earn "Boon of the Scavenger" to increase the loot on these runs.

Atkar would have to earn Valarjar reputation at Revered to get it. If she suceeds, cool. But even if she doesn't, at least Atkar will be out of her way for awhile.

Juxtaposition

Juxtaposition

The great push is on by Blizzard to pre-purchase the coming expansion, Battle for Azeroth. We've been battling for and against Azeroth for years. Now every login blares out UPGRADE! UPGRADE Now!

Okay, so when will the expansion be released? Sorry, can't tell ya. Won't tell ya. Just buy it!

This morning I noticed a change in the carousel of characters. The character list now has 13 spots instead of 12. Is that new? "Create New Character" is proudly shown now. Well. sort of. They haven't adjusted the sizing yet so the empty character slot isn't shown. I checked to see if the New Character option was active and it appears that it is.

So much for the Advertising. Sista has a few things to get done.

Sista made a gathering run over the weekend. Bag prices are high and she needed to farm more materials. She was thin on frosteweave cloth and infinite dust. Her target was Naxramas.
The take from ten runs into Nax brought Sista 67 pieces of gear and 253 infinite dust. There were enough mats to craft 17 frostweave bags. At an average of 410 gold per sale, the guild bank could make as much as 6,000 gold.

Soon after Sista departed Naxramas to count her gold, a shadow came forth and made her own entrance into Naxramas. Sista wasn't fooled. The week before Sista had seen activity around the raid. Now the shadow was back. That person was Atkar, testing her ability to farm the raid. She did one run to confirm she could do the work.

Caught in the act, Atkar waited to see what Sista would do.
Sista didn't have to think twice. If she told Tiphaine about Atkar, Tiphaine might feel obligated to do something about it. Sista decided that Tiphaine would be happier not knowing. She didn't know if she could trust the damaged warrior, but didn't say no when Atkar offered her help.

"This will be just between us," Sista told Atkar. "I have special methods to increase the take of the mats I need. You will not have that advantage, but I want to see what you can do."

Atkar made her own ten trips into Nax, and the two compared notes. Atkar collected 56 pieces of gear. All were soulbound and Sista could not break them. But Atkar has an enchanter back at her garrison and shattered the gear for the mats. Overall, Sista's take was much larger than Atkar's, but the additional cloth and dust was a big help.

Summary    Gear    Dust    Bags
Sista            67    253    17
Atkar           56    111    6
Overall        123    364    23 - A very nice haul.

Just before the two went their separate ways, Sista raised a hand and called out to Atkar.
Atkar turned, her face a blank slate.
Sista nodded to her. "Thank you."

Later . . . .

Tiphaine may have trouble getting any work done. There is this crazy thing called the Super Bowl (or is it Supper Bowl?). Anyway, nobody seems to be around.

Late Sunday night Tiphaine couldn't sleep and went back to work in and around Skyhorn. She was enjoying killing the witches and forgot to watch out for the very large elite that is always on patrol. Tiphaine kicked herself for lack of awareness because that is where she died. Sigh. She hates it when she dies stupidly.

She made up for it by doing more grinding and graduating to Level 107.

No Break for Tiphaine

Note: I don't usually post on the weekends, but Tiphaine's torrid pace sort of forced me to post on Saturday. If she keeps it up I may have to post on Sunday, too.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No Break for Tiphaine

Tiphaine is now Level 104. She remained exclusively in Val'shara, taking advantage of a number of long quest threads in that zone. That doesn't mean she isn't keeping up with other business. Having the Death Gate makes part of her traveling a snap as well, such as getting to and from her Class Hall. She has begun to realize again how much she loves her spec.

Tiphaine is not tracking gear upgrades, knowing they will change often as she gains better and better gear. It was worth mentioning her latest chestpiece. It was pretty ugly and utilitarian, but it had one strong feature - the chest piece is her first rated as i800 gear.

Tiphaine hasn't died since the Kozmar elite took Tiphaine down after a very long fight. Her record is still good. Just one death. How can she do that from starting at level 101?

No. Bad guess. She did not buy a bunch of elevated gear. The reason is much simpler. Tiphaine was the go to gal. She went after every quest, every elite, no matter the difficulty. Everything that could be done, it was Tiphaine who got it done. Tiphaine almost single-handedly brought Flying to her guild. She practically lived among the jungle elites, slaying them on an almost daily basis. With that kind of effort, a lot of great gear fell into her well deserved, bloodied hands. Tiphaine was well prepared.
She took those skills and cleaned out every quest at Braden's Brook and brought down several elites at Black Rook Hold. Tiphaine smiled serenely, enjoying Level 105.

Now it's time to move on again. Tiphaine is ready to take on Highmountain. Except there is an irritatiing problem. No matter what direction Tiphaine takes outside of Val'shara or Aszuna, a powerful force pushes her back into those now confining zones. She's tried to get into Highmountain, and she is denied access. Maybe there's a way.

She's found a trail called the Emerald Ascent. Maybe it helped her, maybe she figured it out herself. She tangled with enemy PvP teams and had to kill a few before she could break free. In any event, the path is now open to Highmountain. She went straight to Hemet Nessingway's camp and does some lucrative hunting. From there Tiphaine  moved to Skyhorn and made more mayhem. Much blood. Now Level 106. She shows no signs of slowing down.

Battle For Azeroth

Battle For Azeroth

Tiphaine heard the rumors of restlessness among the Horde. Heard Horde leaders already claiming rights to new lands still little more than fables. Wildshard will have heard the rumors as well. The two guilds will have decisions to make should the rumors prove true.

Now for the pitch. It's back to Alliance vs Horde again. Each side will get a new land to connquer. The Horde gets Zandalar. The Alliance gets Kul Tiras. Both sides will get to play with "allied" races; ie a different form of the same thing - a "Void Elf" instead of just an elf. A "Highmountain Tauren" instead of just a tauren. Some new racial abilities will be thrown in. Anybodies guess if the racials will be useful.

In addition to the two new land masses it looks like there will be a bunch of smaller islands to play on, too.

They are experimenting with new/old ways to form groups such as "battlegoups" of three (allowing for pvp and/or resource gathering) and in goups of 20 for larger battles or gathering. We've seen this before in earlier expansions. Some of that I remember being fun. Maybe some of the old can be new again.

Of course the Level will go up another 10, to 120. Of course, Boosts to 110 will available for the laggards. Tiphaine is determined to reach 110 well before that happens.

Here are some questions that only the Gods can answer. Or maybe even the Gods don't yet know.

(1) It is expected that Flying in the new lands will be initially restricted. Nothing new there.

(2) But will the requirements that unlock Flying be the same as those as the current Legion requirements? ie, will players be Forced to complete dungeons and raids, not just to unlock Flying, but also to complete professions?

(3) What other crippling rules might there be to force players into or deny them content they paid for?

PS - Sorry about that last bit. Getting a little worked up there. Time will tell.

A Good Day's Work

A Good Day's Work

Tiphaine figured she would be rusty, but it didn't take her long to get into the swing of things in Aszuna. A number of old quests lay fallow. She picked out a couple of interesting challenges and went to work. She spent time at Narthalas Academy, learned some new tricks, and practiced her skills.

Muscle memory was returning. Her Maw of the Damned two-handed axe felt light in her hands. She visited her old friend at Shackles Den and helped clear the creatures that crowded the shoreline. It was a pleasure to be able to fly again as she criss-crossed Aszuna looking for action.

She found a lot of action against the Legion invaders, wading deep into the enemy ranks, the blood and gore stacking up around her. She killed the elite Doom Lord Kro'nak. Tiphaine felt invulnerable.
Not quite. The legion assault had been stopped, and the enemy was fleeing. There were only a few minutes of light left. The skies were clear of legion ships.  One legion soldier remained. It's name was Kozrum. She could have let the beast go. Instead, she roped Kozrum with a Death Grip and drew it into her arms.

The battle was grueling. And long. Back and forth went the two, first one having the upper hand, and then a turn around as each found new strength of will. The battle grew closer and closer to a draw, both hanging on grimly at around 30% health.

Tiphaine was near the end of her strength and had exhausted all her skill. Her last hope was sunset, which would sweep Kozrum back into the departing Legion.

Tiphaine woke at the death knight base of Acherous. She had failed. She let the medics do their work, still insulted that she'd let Kozrum escape her. So, she told herself. I will do better the next time, she promised herself. Day One of her revival of purpose is over. She began at Level 101. She rises on Day Two as a Level 103.
