Up Against the Dungeon Wall

Up Against the Dungeon Wall

Wildshard hit the Druid Campaign wall quicker than Sista did, but that's because by then he knew it was there. Wild now has five dungeons lined up against him:

Darkheart Thicket, the two Eye of Aszhara's, Halls of Valor, and Altherion's Lair. Followed by The Cycle Continues (100 dream seeds planted.). There are a couple more in Argus he will likely run afoul of.

Sista has been at that wall for quite awhile, but she has little interest in pushing that envelope any further. The only member of the family that broke through is Mahakeya. And she only made it through with a lot of help from friends.

Neither Wild nor Sista have any desire or plans to break that Dungeon wall. Wild is after his fishing pole. Sista has it in mind to put all her efforts into Argus and the Antorous Waste ...  And of course, the contest of gear gathering is still central to them. The Great Question is: Can they reach i900 gear level without a dungeon run? The answer is yes, if the two farm up enough veiled argunite. It takes 650 to buy a level 900 piece of gear.

Wild successfully completed his first set of three invasion points. Wild had hoped for a gear upgrade, but all he got was more Artifact power. He would much prefer argunite, whether the pristine kind or the veiled kind. Wild needs both. (pristine argunite (23/50 so far).

Wild has tried to get the Mac-aree area to open up but it stubbornly remains nearly vacant. Perhaps there is a forcing function that must be met before the zone opens up. Doing the same meager quests and killing the same elites every day is boring boring boring. There is this tiny voice in Wild's head that whispers that the problem comes from the failure to engage the dungeons. Hope not.

Wild was in a group for a little while. There was just the two of us running around with a bunch of mobs that had this nasty habit of getting knocked back. The guy, or girl, whichever, was having trouble with some of the tougher mobs. Wild already had his eye on an elite he wanted dead, so Wild okayed a request to group. Wild helped clear some mobs and then waded in to kill the elite. Wild got a thank-you and then had to go.

Chaitee pleaded this morning to find a way to farm shal'dorie silk. There are three locations where word has it that the silk can be farmed with modest success. (1) The obvious spot is along the coastline in Aszuna. This is the most used route and there may be several farmers. In an hour of farming Wild only got about 90 mats, just enough to make one bag. (2) At Snowblind Mesa in Highmountain there is a battlefield that never ends. There are three types of mobs there. One group drops silk. But mixed into the conflict are mobs that throw rocks that do heavy damage and also mobs that group up and launch massess of arrows. Wild died twice trying to farm those and frankly, it's not worth it.

The third option is in the Runewood outside Greywatch in Stormheim. The mobs there spam continuously and are easy to kill. They all drop gobs of junk and small amounts of silk. An hour of farming those mobs brought Wild 151 silk. Easy and boring. Wild still wonders if it's worth the effort. Three hours of farming would get Wild enough silk to make maybe four bags. But that's as good as it gets without cheating.

PS - Wild added another notch in his gear, raising it 1 point from i878 to i879. More importantly is that Wild now has 569 argunite. He needs 81 more to reach 650, which will buy an i900 piece of gear.

PS Again - Wild got his 650 argunite and used it to upgrade his i880 trinket to i910. Wild's overall gear score is now i883. Sista may have to wait for Wild a lot longer than expected before getting back into the battle.
