Keeping Track of Philly

Keeping Track of Philly

There isn't a lot of activity going on with the Wild Family right now. Philly is the only member still actively conducting business outside the garrisons.

Notes of worth are reported below:

* Happy authorized a large 30,000 gold loan to bring Philly up to the level needed to speed her new gathering responsibilities. Although Philly hasn't done much gathering.

* Philly's Status - Gear score is i624 with a 15.51% crit rating
    Part 1: Five gear upgrades upped her gear to i635 with 14.44% crit

    Part 2: Enchants applied for Neck and Back, now i635 with 15.71% crit

    Part 3: With gear upgrade pricing falling, Philly was able to badger Happy into a full trinket upgrade, raising her gear level to i640 and setting the Sandman Pouch Trinket at the max i705. It cost Happy 23,142 gold in lost sales (since the family crafted all the gear upgrades) but buying them at the AH would have cost Happy over 30k. Overall a good exchange.

    Part 4: On Sunday Philly again added to her gear with upgrades on one ring and shoulders. Gear level is now i650 with 15.93% crit. The new shoulders look good, too.

Philly wanted to reroll her rings to get better stats, and as a jewelcrafter she can make the items herself. Rerolls require a minimum i640 level, which unfortunately neither ring has. Of course, she can also craft the i640 Whispering Taladite Ring, but she already has her allocation of three crafted items. No matter, her new ring needed no adjusting.

Philly's best bet now is to start thinking hard about settling in at Vol'Mar and doing the work to get the i650 baleful armor that has a chance to drop with every quest and daily that is completed. If she can handle the Tanaan Jungle.

She did two dailies and picked up her first 2,000 apexis crystals as well as a gem upgrade for her jewelcrafting. Not a bad evening's work. Leo is proving to be a very good follower, using both his healing talent and lightning bolts to good effect. Okay, Leo still gets in the way too often, but the benefit outweighs the inconvenience of him standing in exactly the wrong spot.

Unhappy Note: In the past week Happy made 56,000 gold. And the best he could do was break even. The price of gear upgrades and enchants are falling faster than Happy can keep up with. He is in the rare and uncomfortable position of wondering if he is over-buying the discounted goods. Happy still remembers all that Pandaria stuff left to rot after Draenor arrived.

Traders operating in the garrisons have become almost commonplace. Someone in the family seems to get one every week. The Ore Trader arrived in Philly's garrison on Friday and business was booming. Not only were there dozens of players stopping by, two Blingtron-5000s were opened and they proceeded to have blingtron battles.

Philly kept her garrison open for nearly an hour. Then, for some reason, the raid group failed, dumping Philly out of her own raid. When players continued to walk into her garrison she got nervous and logged out to clear any strangeness with the raid drop. Weird, but on re-logging everything was fine.

One Legion note about garrisons. Garrisons will continue to exist, but only in Draenor. It's also likely that the gold and goods produced by the garrisons already built will be greatly nerfed in Legion. Also, consider this question. What level 100 player will bother to build a garrison when they will be leveling from 101 to 110? And another thought - I can guarantee that the character I boost to level 100 will not bother with garrisons. I'm still mulling over who that will be.

There's a chance the choice of boost will come from the Alliance side. The challenge would be immense. The Wild family footprint in the Alliance consists of the Teagreen guild and not much else. Money and materials would all have to be raised from nearly nothing. However, Sista, Chaitee, and  Javajoo are all good candidates (although Java would likely opt for a sex-change first). Just thinking out loud.
