Getting Settled In

Getting Settled In

Java spent as good part of the start of the weekend sorting through the stuff left behind when the guild went dark. What looked at first like an overwhelming jumble became a little more manageable when Java realized all those 20 item limits no longer applied and that stuff could  be consolidated and compacted into 200 items per bag. Yes, it's been that long ago. Then she went through the piles, vendored the trash, and put the rest up on the Auction House. Java's big find were the huge stacks of hypnotic dust. Despite being scattered amongst the rest of the junk, Java could tell there were a considerable number.

Back in the day, Happy and his cohorts manipulated the price of hypnotic dust, depending on which faction needed gold. The grift required both a horde and an alliance accomplice in the same spot - a dark corner in the lowest room at Booty Bay in Stranglethorn Vale. The method also required quick hands to move the transactions. Other eyes were often watching. Care had to be taken to keep other AH players from seeing what was up.

Interested in whether such a swindle could be put into operation again, Java sent Hearnoevils, a level 30 horde hunter, to Booty Bay. He found the AH trader right where he should be. Hearnoevils opened the Alliance AH. He would need an alliance partner to work the Horde AH.

However, the glue that made it work is having two active accounts, dual monitors, and the ability to rapidly switch between the two, getting in and getting out before anyone was the wiser. That element of the plan lay in rusted lumps about the room. Hearnoevils will take residence at the Salty Sailor Tavern just in case. Chaitee will eventually make her way to Stranglethorn as well, but there isn't any urgency. Maybe someday . . .

Java sold ALL of the hypnotic dust left behind, getting a tidy 2,000 gold for it. That will help pay the bills for a little while.

Meanwhile, Java reached level 64 and made it to Zangarmarsh.
