Guild Confusion

Guild Confusion

Tiphaine is the Leader of her Alliance Autumn Tea Green Guild. Chaitee handles the daily business, and that's the way Tiphaine likes it. It has been so for a considerable time.
There are rumors floating around about the Horde guild, however. Strange rumors. Worrisome rumors, when they reached Tiphaine's ears. Something is amiss with the Horde guilds.

Later in day, the rumors reached Wildshard. Whispers that the Horde guild leader was not what he seemed. In fact, he was no guild leader at all, horde or alliance.

Wild ignored them at first, but the rumors grew. One such rumor was that gold was missing from the Horde bank. Another was that a coupe was in progress that would set Horde against Alliance in a terrible feud.

Determined to put an end to the gathering craziness, Wild went directly to his Guild Hall. It was locked down. His key didn't work. Entrance denied. Wild turned to Jezi, also a guild member. Both Wild and JB were stunned when her key failed as well.

Wild and JB were irate. Were they at the wrong address?  Couldn't be! They made such a racket the noise caught the attention of another nearby guild hall.

"What the hell is all this racket out there!" The guild doors opened and Wild recognized the face. It was Wild's long time friend, Tala, a member of Meitha guild.

"Hi Wild, what's with all the banging?" Tala asked. Wild's face turned red. He belatedly  remembered that he wasn't a guild leader anymore.

"Ah, oh, well . . .  just asking, uh . . . "

Tala and Wild go way back, and Tala knows all about Wild's forgetfulness. "Forgot which door to come in?"

Wild was slowly backing away. "No no, everything is fine, just pulling a little joke on JB, she seems to have forgotten how to get into the Meitha Guild Hall. Where we are members, right?"

"Righhhhhht, Wild." Tala tossed Wild a key. "Try not to lose it again, okay?" Tala closed the guild door.

Wild and JB looked at each other. Then JB turned and punched Wild in the arm. "Dang it, Wild, you had me confused, too! We are in the Meitha Guild!"

Wild was still flustered. "Then what happened to my old guild? The local Horde guild?"
"Have things gotten this bad? How long has it been?"

They soon found out. For the second time they faced a closed door. Behind the spider webs was a faded sign, "The Order of the Dragon."

Scribbled beneath the sign was this: "Guild business? Contact Happyface at the Undercity."
"I should have known,"  Wild said. "Leave it to Happy to keep things going, even when there isn't anything going on."

Across the world in the Eastern Kingdom, the Guild Leader of the Order of the Dragon, Happyface, keeps the lights on within the Undercity. He isn't lonely. He has his treasure to keep him company.

If this all seems convoluted, perhaps a quick refresher would be in order. There are three guilds involved:
(1) Wildshard and JB are members of the Meitha Guild, a Horde raiding guild that still welcomes them both though neither raid anymore.
 (2) The Alliance Autumn Tea Green Guild is the most active local guild, focused on leveling and improved professions.
(3) The Order of the Dragon is a Horde guild with only one active member: Guild Leader Happyface.
The Alliance Autumn Tea Green Guild and the Horde Order of the Dragon guild sometimes work together, and sometimes not. Should the slumbering Order of the Dragon become more active, friction between the factions will likely start to show.
