On The Right Path - Kind of

On The Right Path - Kind of

PS - Sorry for the weekend post but a lot has been happening. More to come.

It has taken Keya a very long time, but it appears that she is on the right path in her pursuit of  "A Glorious Campaign." From that point she has arrived at the next leg, which is "Preparations for Invasion." There are several parts to this and Keya isn't going to lay out the boring details. If something interesting happens on the Scouting Map, Keya will be the first to holler!

Okay, so Keya is done now with the Scouting Map. Instead, she has picked up two quests, "Deadlier Warglaives" and "A Special Kind of Fuel." Keya fussed over those two quests when she first saw them - actually, she went berserk and started writing op-eds about how terrible it was that Keya was being forced to do dungeons and raids. That seems like an age ago now that Keya has done both, and more than once.

Of course, Keya will still complain. Now she has to run dungeons until she gathers 15 sovereign souls. Sigh. This, too, will take some time. She can minimize the time if she does the following three dungeons that each have five bosses (generally, each boss drops one sovereign soul).

Vault of the Wardens
Halls of Valor
Eye of Azshara

The luck of the die gave Keya "Halls of Valor." She picked up four (well, not exactly) sovereign souls. I have the screen prints for all of them. However, I cannot find them in my bags or anywhere else!? Okay, never mind. The quest itself is counting the number. I got ripped off, darn it. It says Keya received only three sovereign souls. Sigh. Okay, well, one dungeon down. By the way, Keya was the lead damage dealer (28.7%). The DPSers did 24%, 22%, and 17%.

In these dungeon runs, wouldn't it be nice if the groups would stay together? Players go scampering off in all five directions within seconds of starting the run. I have this sneaking perception, though, that players might be confused, thinking that Keya is the tank and that they should be following her. Bad idea. Very bad idea. Should I warn folks that I do not know where I'm going? In fact, Keya never knows where she is going.

Aha! Sometimes doing crazy things get good results. Apparently in all the rushing around Keya picked up more than three sovereign souls. The gods of WoW determined that she should have SIX sovereign souls, not three. Hmm, maybe running around mindlessly killing things works well for Keya. Almond offered a better alternative - tagging the actual tank and following it wherever it went. The only issue could be that the healer might be lost, too. Not a problem for Keya and her endless self-heal-me spells, but the real tank might have trouble.

Anyway, Keya will soon be off to another dungeon. Hopefully she'll screw things up enough that she'll find six more souls in her mailbox.  One can hope.

That next dungeon run was "Eye of Azshara." This run was more fun than the crazy mix of the prior run. Not only did the group stay together, the group wanted to clear trash as well. My guess is that there were players still leveling (Players can enter at level 98) and needed the XP. No problem with that. Keya helped mow them down. The bosses were accomodating and when all were dead, Keya's sovereign souls tally went from 6 to 13. She needs only two more to complete the quest.

Keya thought about just letting the group finder pick the next dungeon run, since she only needs two souls. But dungeons have different numbers of bosses. Aww, just check all those that she hasn't run yet! That was an hour ago. Four dungeons checked and not single nibble. Keya figures the real players are in Heroic and Mythic runs with no time to play in the kiddy pool. She's going to hang in there a little longer, but it's starting to look like she'll be at it again tomorrow.

Getting sleepy. Wildshard remembers the days when he would go fishing while waiting to see if he would get picked for a dungeon or raid. Wildshard always had fish food plattters for raiding.

Keya was about to call it a night. Past my bedtime already, but the group finder handed Keya "Neltharion's Lair" and she just couldn't pass it up.Keya got her souls and finished the Fuel quest. Finally, bed.
