Wednesday
(4 Apr) - Padres Game #2
Sigh.
Yes, the Padres lost again, while the two simulations awarded them victories.
I'm resigned to the Padres finishing their season 0-162 based on the simulated
status to date. The Mariners lead their division at 2-1, while playing 1-2 ball
in both simulations. The Mariners must be on their way to a 100+ win season!
Just
kidding. So far for the Padres, what this has shown is that the success of the
team's starting pitchers, Volquez and Richard, in 2012 has not translated into
wins in 2013. After two games the Padres have the worst team ERA in the league,
and this is before they play their first home game, where the fences have been
moved in this year to generate more offense.
I
am going to posting the weekly standings for the season and the simulations as
an overview of all the action in addition to my focus on the Padres. That will
start up next week when we have a few more games played.
We
finally got our season tickets delivered to us on Wednesday. They had somehow
managed to send them to the Naval Base Morale, Welfare and Rec (MWR) office.
I'm all for supporting the troops, but they're not getting my Padres tickets!
The team got it straightened out while the tickets were still in transit by
UPS, so all is well.
