Wednesday (3 Nov) - Doomsayers
JB doesn't get to Orgrimmar much anymore, but she had a bit of Auction House work to do and so stopped in for what she expected would be a short trip. While in Org she noticed a small crowd of people listening raptly to someone. The crowd was at the entrance to "The Drag," which is a winding lane connecting the Valley of Strength (where the AH is located) and the Valley of Wisdom (where the Horde Chief holds court). JB was already a bit disturbed that the long time horde Chief, Thrall, now had a competitor for leader of the Horde - Grimmash. He, too, was holding his own court in the Valley of Wisdom.
JB knew that Philly had been spending a lot of time in Org and asked her when these orators or whatever they were had started to show up. Philly was busy with her glyph business and couldn't tell JB much, but Philly did notice that there were several of them, all proselytizing about something they called Twilight's Hammer. Philly had also been forced to kill an elemental mob that appeared suddenly from no where and attacked her. It was only level 15, but it disturbed her to see such creatures in the city.
JB started asking around, and learned that the speakers, who called themselves Doomsayers, were becoming a nuisance, and that Blood Guard Torek had been tasked with dealing with them. This was getting curiouser and curiouser. JB found Torek in the Valley of Strength between the bank and the Inn.
Torek was extremely busy and distracted as he was being inundated by folks who were concerned about relatives and friends who had disappeared recently. When JB had a chance to talk to Torek, JB was immediately pressed into service to learn more about what these Doomsayers were talking about. Torek offered a quest, "Prophecies of Doom."
JB decided she would check into this and get back to the rest of the Wild Family. Some of the things she'd heard from these Doomsayers sounded downright dangerous.
So begins the first of four events leading up to Cataclysm. Stay tuned for more . . .
