The Future of the Wild Family

The Future of the Wild Family
The coming expansion is still months away, but the family patriarch, Wildshard, has been taking stock. While Wild remains the titular leader of the family, his activity has become limited to his garrison and periodic fishing outings. He maintains his skill in Tailoring and Enchanting, and that won't change. However, with Wild's blessing, Jocelyne is stepping up as the family leader and immediately takes over the day-to-day business.

With that in mind, Jocy and Wild are taking a close look at ALL of the family, and making decisions about their future. In the heady early days in Azeroth the Wild family spread across both Horde and Alliance, as well as across two accounts. Since then there's been no new blood until Tiphaine's daughter Fist was welcomed into the fold. When Legion unfolds the family can look forward to at least one new addition, once the new demon hunters open themselves to the rest of Azeroth. For some of us this is good news. For others, maybe not so good.

Secondly, Jocy made the decision to bless those members seeking retirement and give them their wish. That announcement drew some laughter, as certain members could already be considered retired. True, but Jocy is making it official.

Five family members currently residing in the inactive account are now considered retired, but will remain on the account (Bruiserbabe, Beanoevil, Hapless, Alwayslost, and Mewgoogaipan). Sistaphilia will move from the inactive account to the active account when the time comes.

Ten family members make up the current active account, including: Happyface, Jocelyne, Wildshard, Plumrosefist, Jezzibel, Phillyperdue, Chaitee, and Tiphaine, plus incoming Sistaphilia and the new demon hunter.

The next move is a difficult but necessary one. Wild is glad that it's Jocy having to make such a decision. Javajoo, Merylitlbotm, and Hearnoevils currently reside on the active account. Once the above changes are put into place, however, there will not be enough room for everyone on the active account, even with the addition of a 12th spot. Javajoo and Merylitlbotm will be able to stay on, at least for the time being. They have to know their spots are shaky. Unfortunately, that leaves no place for Hearnoevils.

Hearnoevils got some support from Beanoevils and Chaitee, asking Jocy to activate the second account. Jocy nixed that right away. There will be only one active account and only twelve active family members. Everyone will have to get used to it. The only hope is that the gods of WoW decide to pay a transaction and move Hearnoevils to the inactive account. If that doesn't happen, Hearnoevils will be permantly retired. Tough love.

Speaking of the demon hunter, I'm okay that their racial is blood/night elves. Not happy, but ok. My hope is that they give the demon hunter a modified elven look that's different from the standard elf. I mean, really, couldn't they at least get a different set of undergarments? Ideally, I'd love to see demon hunters have a shape-shifting ability like the worgen, who can shift between worgen and human appearance. Wouldn't it be cool if demon hunters could shift between ordinary elf and demon hunter elf.

Things will be delayed with the release of Patch 6.2.2 tomorrow, and Jocy's Draenor Pathfinder progress had it's own hiccup. The Arak zone checked good for Pathfinder, but when Jocy attempted to insert the treasure map it wouldn't load. The problem was that only 5 of 9 storylines weren't complete, an issue that didn't show up in the statistics. Jocy spent the whole evening pulling arak feathers in order to complete the storylines in Arak. That's put Jocy another day behind. The grinding will continue - whenever the patch is in place.
