Tuesday Night (3 Mar) - Hunter Fortress Rocks Again!

Tuesday Night (3 Mar) - Hunter Fortress Rocks Again!

Getting away from all the guild drama for awhile, there was more total destruction in the level 10-14 bracket of Warsong Gulch Tuesday night. All four of the power hitting hunters were level 14, and in the first match were joined by three more hunters, making it seven hunters in a team of ten. To make matters even worse for the alliance opponents, their team of ten included no hunters at all. That in itself was pretty astonishing. The alliance was so badly out-gunned that some alliance players started hiding from us to avoid getting killed. I really think they were hiding from Speak, who racked up 21 killing blows (KBs), no deaths on the night, and a Wrecking Ball achievement. The other 9 horde players got 36 total KB's between us. See was near the top in KBs as well and also had a flag capture. Shevils and Bean had two killing blows and one death between us, and could only watch in awe as the Speak/See team struck fear into the alliance like cobras mesmerizing their victims.

In the second match the real power of the combined might of Hunter Fortress came to the front. The top four players in KBs were Speak (33), See (27), Shevils (18) and Bean (8). Speak again went the entire fight without dying and capped all three flags. Too bad you can't get the Wrecking Ball title more than once. However, capturing the flag three times without dying did earn Speak the Ironman achievement. The alliance opponents were much better in the second match. They fought hard, stopping our flag carrier four times, making us work for every cap, and kept us on the field for 21 minutes. What a night!

I don't think Hunter Fortress has lost a single match yet. Do you know what our record is, erik? I think you were counting them for awhile.

After the hunters retired for the evening, Kiren and Sista headed into the dungeons. Sista remembered to bring her dagger this time and used Kiren's recommended attack rotation that added Swipe for hits on multiple mobs. We hit the dungeons three times, the first in a wing of Dire Maul we hadn't seen yet, a Strathholme (or was it Scholo?) run that was also the first time we'd done that one, and a third (RFK?). The new attack rotation added about 40 more DPS and Sista managed to hold the #2 spot in DPS for most of the night. We had a bit of a problem with the first healer we had in DM. He/She may have had lag problems or other issues, but was late or absent on many pulls and finally went offline. We didn't seem to need a healer for most of the run as things died fast and Kiren had more mana and healing tricks than most healers bring at this level.

Edit - Kiren provided a correction on our dungeon crawling - it was Dire Maul West, Scholomance, and Razorfen Downs.

We did eventually get sent a new healer who said he was healing for the first time and stayed with us for the last two dungeon runs. A bit cocky, the priest pretended to sleep through some pulls and encouraged Kiren to pull ever greater numbers of mobs. In Scholo there is no end to the number of mobs that can be pulled, so we started to accumulate literally mountains of corpses. We finally bit off more than even we could chew and wiped against an armada of skeletons that never ended. That was our only setback, though. Sista reached level 45, and Kiren got very close to level 45. The leveling is definitely slowing down, but at the same time we are seeing new content and taking down new dungeons.

Wednesday Night - On Wednesday night Shevils and Bean got together and worked on our mechanics outside Orgrimmar (where we had been dueling on Tuesday). After clearing the range of all stags and hostiles, we dueled each other numerous times, working on various aspects of dueling. I know, Speak and See are horrified! A Wildshard toon teaching pvp? Don't listen to him, Bean, he doesn't know how to pvp!!! :P

Credit to Bean, she was soon winning her share of matches.

There weren't many other players around, but we did get a visit from a level 10 rogue who kept standing around. So Bean asked him to duel, and he declined, called us twinks and kiting whores. Both of which were true, but Shevils chatted him up, being nice. The rogue tried some braggadocio, saying that he could one shot either of us from stealth, then said his BG popped and he had to go, but that we should wait for him.

We just went back to our own dueling. Awhile later, though, another rogue came out and said that he was another toon of the level 10 rogue. This rogue was level 19, and a quick inspect showed that he had several pvp blue pieces and was pretty well geared overall. Now he wanted to duel.

With Bean egging me on, Shevils took him up on it. In the first match the rogue stealthed before accepting the duel, so there wasn't much I could do but try to avoid the sap and get a mark on him to keep him from stealthing a second time. I didn't get a second time as he killed me in the first attack. Feeling magnanimous, the rogue said he would stay out of stealth and give me a second try. Shevils came close to killing him in the second match. He made the mistake of giving me a third shot, and that time Shevils beat him. He was pretty gracious about it, but he then had to leave.

Shevils later showed Bean where most of the dueling goes on, outside the main gate of Orgrimmar. There wasn't any other players around our level, so we dueled each other some more, Bean pretty eager to keep practicing, and watched the dueling comments in chat as the players outside tried to one up each other. We had a great time.
