Thursday (7 Apr) - Partners Java and Sista
Java did some early questing to get the 10% xp needed to reach level 47, and later entered a random dungeon, getting Dire Maul North for the umpteenth time. The warrior tank took a different route than I or the rest of the group were used to, but it worked out ok once we got used to following him instead of just following the course we were used to. Java is finding new ways to entertain himself on the Kromcrush encounter. Java has wiped on this encounter in the past; he's beaten Kromcrush twice in back-to-back runs; and he's seen how the Ogre Disguise is used to fool Kromcrush into letting all of us go by without a fight. On this run we had a player with an ogre suit, and he went up to Kromcrush without getting attacked. So Java sauntered up there as well, just as he'd seen others do in the last group that used the suit. Only this time (I would learn later), there was a bit of lag in talking with Kromcrush, and the suited player was still talking when Java walked up. Kromcrush attacked Java.
Java knew enough to engage and kite Kromcrush away from the piles of mobs behind him. We had a very spirited fight. The warrior tank took over but was killed when Feared players aggroed the other mobs. Java picked up the tanking and got some help from the healer. We had a cat druid in the group and he battle rezzed the warrior. The warrior had his hands full with multiple mobs. Java killed Kromcrush and then helped clear up the mess Java had made. I didn't give them a chance to yell at Java. I admitted the mistake and we simply moved on.
I'm getting pretty tired of Dire Maul North, though. Perhaps we can tempt a group sometime to try a tribute run, something that no Wild family member has ever done.
By the end of the day Java had exhausted the quests in Western Plaguelands and completed the lore of the Battle of Andorhal. In the end, the Alliance were unable to hold the city, and the Forsaken took control. It remains a hostile city to this day.
Java moved on to the Eastern Plaguelands, and on the way to Light's Hope Chapel. Pre-Cata, the Chapel was a neutral base and central to the lore surrounding the Lich King. Great battles by Heroes of both sides were waged there, battles Wild was a part of. How that plays out in Cata, with the Lich King dead, should be interesting.
Jave DINGD! to the level 48 and finally got his "bubble," the Divine Shield that paladins are known for. Java is also now the same level as Sista, sharing the honor of being the highest level Alliance in Wild's family. Java may take a short break to build back up his rested xp, which would open the door for Sista to level up to 50 so she can keep up with Kire. It's a busy real life weekend coming up, though, so we'll see.
