[Note: posted on the wild family blog, but as of Tuesday morning the Sporting News site was hard down]
On Monday morning Lady Hunter, Wild's in game friend of many years, caught up with Philly while she was clearing her bags from her most recent random heroic run. Philly was in Orgrimmar, where Wild had joined her briefly to do some enchants for her. Lady Hunter congratulated Philly on making level 80, and we chatted for a bit. She was making some UI changes and Philly joined her in a temporary raid so she could set up her configuration.
Never one to sneak up on a topic when she could be direct, Lady Hunter asked Philly if she was still interested in joining the MM guild. Up until that moment I could not have said what my answer would be. With no hesitation, though, I found myself answering, "Yep, I am."
Lady Hunter invited Philly to the MM guild on the spot, and Philly accepted. The only thing Philly is sorry about is having to leave the Order of the Dragon guild. However, if anything were to change down the road and Philly wanted to come back, I think JB would let her back in. ;-)
Philly does not intend to give up her late night pvp romps with DER and Sis, so don't start asking Philly if "i can havs yur pvp lootz." Wild will also still have priority on game time, but I think I can fit Philly in there somewhere.
Lady Hunter would like her in her raid group, but that's a big step for Philly. She'll need more heroic randoms, some Trial of the Crusader (ToC) runs once she's mined the heroics, and then get into the ICC 5 mans. I don't see Philly starting to raid until all that is done. With the MM guild, Philly has a number of friends who I'm sure are willing to help Philly gear up and, more importantly, willing to let her screw up as she learns to be a better shadow priest and healer.
The dungeon Philly had just finished up with was Halls of Stone (HoS). It was a curtailed run because this is one of those dungeons that have a shortcut to the final boss. The random group Philly wound up in just wanted the frost badges, so we bypassed a couple of the bosses. Part of the reason for cutting to the chase, I think, was Philly's low DPS and the fact that the rogue with us died on every trash mob fight. Philly got her frost badges (she has a grand total of "4" now), and also got a new +crit trinket, [Forge Ember]. The dungeon run also got her to Revered rep with Kirin Tor, which did two things for Philly. She could upgrade her helm enchant, which she paid about 250g to get for both of her head gear. She was also able to upgrade her main hand weapon with a rep reward from Kirin Tor, [Flameheart Spell Scalpel]. That dagger was what Wild came in game to enchant for Philly.
And Philly is just getting started.
